Turkish senate elections, 1961
Turkey held senate elections on 15 October 1961. In this election 150 members of the senate were elected by the majority (winner takes all) system. The result was surprising. Because the second party (in terms of the nationwide votes) could gain two times as much seats as the leading party. [1]
